Fueled by caffeine and eccentricity, Marissa is a snarky, nocturnal designer and illustrator currently based in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania. Despite growing up in southern California, she could not surf even if her life depended on it (but she still says “dude!” quite a lot). She eventually moved up north to San Francisco where she acquired her BFA in Computer Arts, New Media from the Academy of Art University. Shortly after graduating and moving to central Pennsylvania in 2008, Marissa shifted her one-woman handmade business to full-time, creating traditional Japanese kanzashi hair accessories and kimono, custom clothing, screen-printed apparel, art prints, and stationery. Whenever Marissa is not glued to her laptop whipping up fresh designs or creating cosplay outfits at her sewing machine, she's out battling necromancers and their legions of undead thralls (she is a Hufflepuff, after all).
