Most of my artwork is intellectual in that it examines the mythology and historical allegories traditionally defining our distinctive identity and struggles in life. My paintings strive to illustrate the various aspects and cultural meanings of life. I explore the boundaries of figurative painting and abstract design in my compositions. By subtly manipulating color, line, and form, I attempt to blur the distinction between what was traditionally viewed as two diverse schools of art and compel the viewer to re-conceptualize the differences between figurative and abstract work. I love to create works of art intentionally. I feel alive while developing forms and experimenting, transforming, and imagining worlds, and unique situations. Inner feelings naturally have their prominent place in my paintings and are there to be perceived. Painting is another creative way of thinking. Thinking about what I discern and then interpreting those thoughts, conceiving in this manner, a remarkable transformation of realizing them by plastic means of a vision into a work of art. It is a creative endeavor to keep our souls above that great wealth of imagination. But there must always be a rich moral attitude for any artistic development. Creative painting is thus a matter of the mind, of the soul. There are no moral absolutes in correctly approaching the imaginative creation of art. It is an intuitive response to a profound and passionate urge to create; it is a deliberate act of magic. Ramon F. Borges
