Annette Hestres Garcia is a Puerto Rican native. Annette is a self-taught artist in oil painting, acrylic painting, sculpture, and photography. Recently (2024) some of her art was published in the book "Conjuring: Love & Other Cautionary Tales" as a collaborative project led by Dr. Leslie Sotomayor II. Her photography was shown in group exhibitions at Fraser St. Gallery (2015-2016) and Penn State Symposiums (2014, 2016). ​Her favorite passion is creating hand-painted and computer graphic Mandalas. She began her artistic career as a professional musician in Puerto Rico. She holds a PhD in Adult Learning and Comparative and International Learning from Penn State University. She lives in State College, Pennsylvania with her wife Sandy and their bishon Trooper.
